David Wikberg has been active in Stockholm for ten years, but he grew up on the west coast and has been working with music ever since he finished high school. From the beginning as a musician but over time as a producer and songwriter for a number of successful artists.
First own album Surgery, which was released under the name Cat Gold, came about during a time in David’s life when everything stopped – in a very concrete sense. Death and mental illness in the family combined with major foot surgery put life on hold. His own sedentary situation made him write song after song, to write himself off. As a producer and songwriter, David Wikberg (formerly Axelsson) has collaborated with artists such as Thomas Stenström, Jonas Lundqvist, Maja Francis, Mapei, Shout Out Louds, Esther, and others. The album Surgery, released in 2023, is his first album under the name Cat Gold.
